Expedition to Mt Gorichen flagged off

first_imgItanagar, May 2 (PTI) An expedition to Mount Gorichen was flagged off today at the Mountaineering and Allied Sports (NIMAS) campus at Dirang in Arunachal Pradesh. The 24-member expedition team to be led by NIMAS Director Colonel Sarfraz Singh would attempt summiting the 21,410 feet high mountain comprising of five peaks in about 22 days from tomorrow, an official communiqué said. Mount Gorichen in Arunachal Pradesh is the third highest peak in the north east. The pre-monsoon expedition has been planned to foster the spirit of adventurism among the locals. Besides the NIMAS personnel, a total of eight local young people, including two women are part of the expedition team, the communiqué added. PTI UPL KK KKlast_img
