The program’s goal is to invest 2.3-million dollars in rural schools throughout the U.S. during the 2012-2013 school year. Eligible school districts were nominated by local farms and then had to complete an online application. Finalists then were chosen by math and science teachers from ineligible school districts. The program’s Advisory Council then reviewed finalists’ applications and selected the winners.  Monsanto Fund President Deborah Patterson says the Council is looking forward to seeing the proposals come to fruition and learning how the students benefit from them.Source: NAFB News Service America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education Announce Grant Winners By Gary Truitt – Aug 28, 2012 SHARE SHARE Facebook Twitterlast_img read more
